Our Story

There are over 500 Canadian and 1,500 American students studying here at the University of Edinburgh. We are a community for Canadian and American students, our Scottish hosts, and our friends on campus focused on celebrating Canadian and American culture, promoting cultural understanding among our members and on campus, and generally having a great time. Our values - inclusiveness, equality, and enquiry.

Scotland, the University of Edinburgh, Canada and the United States all share a deeply interconnected history, a social and political tradition rooted in the Scottish Enlightenment, and a commitment to the betterment of humanity through education. Canadians and Americans have much to be proud of in regard to our relationship with this university. This coming year we hope to provide a community, an organising space, for Canadian and American students, alumni, our friends on campus, our Scottish hosts, and faculty to gather and create. You'll never find yourself wondering where to spend Thanksgiving or if you can catch a game of American Football in our city.

We're YOUR society and we want to be everyone's society. If you're Canadian or American or Scottish or Swiss or Kenyan, we want to celebrate our culture with you and to join you in celebrating your culture.
